Operation Veteran Support is a grass-roots effort supported by District 5810 to encourage all Americans to support U.S. military veterans. Many Rotary members are veterans of World War II, Korea, Vietnam, The Cold War, Desert Storm, Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq and numerous other actions. The sacrifices given by all the brave men and women in our military can never be overstated. It is a sad fact that our government has never been able to adequately address the needs of returning veterans. It is up to organizations like Rotary to pick up the slack and make sure that these sacrifices and these veterans are not forgotten. The purpose of this web site is to share information that we have gathered. The information explains six options; three are to volunteer time and three are to donate money, one of which will suit every donor and/or Rotary club's unique needs and resources.
Good things happen in Rotary clubs when a member's passion is ignited and fanned by other member's involvement. We hope that something in these pages will ignite your passion.
In choosing the opportunities that are presented, the committee (comprised of members of numerous Rotary clubs) considered several factors:
To provide Rotarians opportunities to support our veterans with time and/or money and to include our communities in this effort.
